Mascus signs a cooperation agreement for Turkey

Mascus, the world’s leading online marketplace for construction machinery, agricultural and forestry equipment is pleased to announce a new licensing agreement in Turkey. Mascus Turkey is the 37th territory for Mascus and the deal with Makport, a new company from industry veteran Kemal Ünalan, reflects the truly global marketplace now available to Mascus customers.

“2010 was an incredible year for Mascus. We are now present in 37 countries, with 150,000 adverts and more than 2 million unique users every month.” says Mascus MD, Fredrik Larsson. “Despite the global economic problems, we have continued to grow and this latest deal in Turkey marks another important milestone in our development.”

Mascus Turkey: a vital new hub

“Turkey’s location as a hub between Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East has meant that it always been a key territory for global trade.” says Internationalization Director Tomasz Odrobinski. “We’re pleased to be working with Kemal Ünalan and Makport, ; it’s a great strategic partnership of online sales and marketing experts combined with industry knowledge. We will bring enormous value to Turkish dealers, helping them to increase sales internationally and engage with local buyers.”

“I believe that the enormous content, transparency and user friendliness of Mascus makes it a great asset for buyers and sellers,” says Kemal Ünalan. “Anyone who does not speak other than his native language can still trade virtually anywhere in the world, make comparisons between thousands of items and make better decisions.”

Mascus Turkey Country Manager Kemal Ünalan adds: “Mascus will bring to Turkey not only a heavy machinery marketplace but will also offer many value added services such as:

  • Mascus Locator – a directory for heavy machinery owners offering services such as rentals, spare parts, transportation, financing and repairs
  • Printed Magazine – 70,000 copies distributed internationally twice a year
  • Web Services – including integration with dealer’s websites, technical support, web pages and tools for managing stock online.

Global concept, local knowledge

Alongside Brazil and Russia, Turkey was one of only three countries to emerge from the financial crisis with a better credit rating so it represents a large, thriving marketplace for Mascus to open up for its customers, particularly those in Western Europe and the Middle East.

“As the first of the BRICET countries outside Europe where we have a licensing agreement, Turkey marks an important step in our growth as well as opening up a wealth of new opportunities for our customers locally, regionally and internationally,” continues Tomasz Odrobinski. “In 2011 we will be working hard on licensing deals in other key territories particularly Brazil, Russia, India and China, as well as Mexico and S.Korea.”
